Source: APRA Comprehensive Product Performance Package 2026, published 28 August 2026. Fees reflect the reporting year to 30 June 2026, are net of tax, use standard arrangements and exclude member-activity fees. Dollar figures are rounded. They are not a current quote. Check the latest PDS for changes, insurance premiums and any separately charged advice.

Returns are annualised historical results. Different return bases, risk levels and periods cannot be treated as interchangeable. MySuper net returns use a $50,000 representative balance even when you change the fee balance. A lifecycle stage return does not track a person moving between stages. Missing figures mean not reported, not zero. Past returns do not predict future returns. Read our method and APRA's definitions.

Investment choices

The disclosed investment service includes listed securities, term deposits and cash arrangements. Existing members should check their own current menu before placing an instruction.

Sources1234

The fund has MySuper and Choice investments. Pension members can access the Choice menu but not the MySuper option.

Sources123
Insurance

Occupation-rating and insurance application documents remain in the disclosure library. Existing cover depends on the member's product and policy terms.

Sources1234

Members can opt in to life, TPD and income protection cover. Check eligibility and the current insurer documents, especially for manual work or changing employment.

Sources123
Retirement income

Pension documents remain available for existing members. A legacy pension's rules should be checked before changing accounts.

Sources1234

Australian Food Super Pension provides an account-based income product. Compare its fee and investment documents separately from accumulation super.

Sources123
Advice and support

An adviser can review whether the existing account still serves the member's portfolio and retirement needs; product closure alone does not establish that switching is better.

Sources1234

The fund has engaged Retire360 to provide advice. Confirm which assistance is included and what a more detailed personal plan costs.

Fee details to check

Read AMG Personal's PDS with the July 2026 product and administrator updates. Use its own costs, not Acclaim Core's managed-option pricing.

Sources1234

Use the current product disclosure and member guide for the option and account type. Include insurance premiums in a personal comparison.

Sources123
Comparing investment performance

Returns depend on the investments held. Historical AMG MySuper returns should not be presented as the performance of every AMG Personal account.

Sources1234

Compare the published MySuper or Choice option over identical dates and distinguish pension from accumulation results.

THE SUPERGURU VIEW

Our take on Australian Food Super

Editorial assessment

Worth comparing for food-industry workers who want to investigate occupation-specific insurance and a conventional super-and-pension offering.

What deserves a closer look

  • AMIST is an old name for the same offering, not another current competing fund.
  • Do not confuse it with Meat Employees' Industry Superannuation Fund, which is a different scheme.

Before choosing between AMG Personal Super and Pension and Australian Food Super

Use the membership rules to establish which accounts are available to you. Then compare the total price of the investment option and cover you need. A lower fee or higher historical return alone does not tell you which fund is suitable.

Ask both funds to confirm insurance acceptance, exclusions, waiting periods and whether cover would change when you leave your employer. Obtain advice before giving up a defined benefit or an insurance policy you may not be able to replace. ASIC Moneysmart explains the comparison checks.
